Careers in Computer Science

Future graduating classes have every reason to be optimistic about their job search!

In a 2004 survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), employers said that overall they'd be hiring 11.2% more college graduates than the previous year.

Nationally, graduates of computer-related disciplines saw healthy increases in their average starting salaries to $49,691, up 4.8% from the previous year.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for computer professionals is expected to grow from 3.3 million to 4.4 million by 2012, adding a total of 1.15 million new jobs.  This represents a projected annual growth rate of 3.1 percent, more than twice that of the overall US annual job growth.
