The Ying Wu College of Computing wants to ensure that you have a successful transition to your major; therefore, all students must demonstrate proficiency in the material covered in CS 100 Roadmap to Computing.
There are two ways to accomplish this:
Take CS 100 at NJIT
Take the CS 100 Credit By Exam and score 82% or better
The exam can be taken three times a year, at the end of the Fall/Spring/Summer semesters
Exam Information
You may only attempt the Credit by Exam if you have not already enrolled in CS 100 in a prior semester.
The exam will be offered in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters
Date: Monday, August 8th, 2022
Time: 1:00pm - 3:30pm
Any student seeking to take the CS 100 Credit By Examination exam must do the following::
Fill out all the information (including UCID) at the top of the form.
Take the form in person to the Bursar's Office and pay the non-refundable $50 CBE fee. The Bursar will complete the Receipt No., Date Paid and Cashier fields.
Bring the form to GITC 4414. If Theodore Nicholson is not there, slide it under the door.
Complete all of the above before Monday, August 1st, 2022 (11:59 pm) in order to to take the exam on August 8th, 2022.
Location: Will be emailed a week prior to exam
Parking: Free parking is available in the deck
Exam Results and Receiving Credit
You will be notified of your exam results via your NJIT email. Note: You will only be notified of your passing or failing score, not your percentile, and you will not have an opportunity to review the exam afterwards.
If you do not score at least 80%, you will not have an opportunity to retake the exam and will be required to take CS 100 at NJIT.
