About the Department of Computer Science

The Computer Science department, part of the Ying Wu College of Computing Sciences, is the largest at NJIT, comprising one tenth of the student population.

It is also the largest computer science department among all research universities in the New York metropolitan area.​

The department offers a full range of degree programs in computer science online (BA/BS, MS and PhD). In addition, it offers programs in: Cyber Security and Privacy (MS), Software Engineering (MS), Bioinformatics (BS/MS), and Computing and Business (BS/MS). The Bioinformatics degree is also available in a pre-med option.

The BA/BS programs in Computer Science are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org.
