Education
The department offers a full range of degree programs in Computer Science (BS, Graduate Certificate, MS and PhD). In addition, it offers programs in: Cyber Security and Privacy (MS), Software Engineering (MS), Bioinformatics (MS).
The Computer Science Department enrolls over 3,200 students at all levels across six programs of study and takes part, alongside the Departments of Informatics and Data Science, in the Ying Wu College of Computing (YWCC). YWCC comprises 35% of the NJIT enrollment, educating more than 4,700 students in computing disciplines, and graduating over 1,000 computing professionals every year; as such, it is the largest producer of computing talent in the tri-state (NY, NJ, CT) area. The Computer Science Department is housed in a recently renovated state-of-the-art facility. YWCC is undergoing significant growth as a priority area for NJIT. This is an integral part of NJIT's five-year strategic plan, which calls for positioning NJIT as a world-class institution of higher education and research.
